2023 Oscar Nominations (Who I Think Should Win Each Category)

In January, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their 2023 Oscar nominations. This will be the 95th Academy Awards and there are plenty of nominations to be excited about (Brenden Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, and Ke Huy Quan) and some films were definitely snubbed (RRR). I’ll release my Top 10 2022 movie list the night of the Oscars (March 12), but below I’ve listed which nominee (bolded/underlined) I think should win each category, not who I think will win. For who I think will win, check out this graphic. I’ll skip some categories as I have no idea who should win best Short Film, Live Action or Animated.

There are some really great nominees so choosing my favorites for some categories was very difficult (Actor in a Supporting Role and Original Song). I will confess that I have not yet seen every movie that received a nomination, but I have seen 82 movies so far in 2022 and plan on watching most of them before March 12th.
